Countdown to IBS 2024: 3 Weeks 'til Vegas

Hey there, and welcome back again to this week’s countdown to IBS 2024– we are officially less than three weeks away, and as we are rapidly approaching the event, we bring you another insight into the biggest trade show of the year, but with a little bit of a twist. Tune in this week to learn about what it is about The Bellagio Hotel that makes it the #1 spot in Las Vegas!

So… What’s the Big Deal?

If you’re like me, you may be unfamiliar with a lot of parts of Las Vegas, and therefore, are unaware of why certain Las Vegas staple spots are so famous. You may hear the names and think ‘oh yeah, I’ve heard of that place before’ but seriously have no idea why it’s popular. The Bellagio is one of these for me.

My initial thoughts of The Bellagio every time I had heard someone talk about it was ‘um, isn’t that just some fancy hotel?’ but of course didn’t actually say that in lieu of not offending anyone… Come to find out, it’s much more than just some fancy hotel. Sure, it is a hotel with some penthouse suites that may cost me an entire paycheck for a one-night stay, but there is so much more to it.

We relate to The Bellagio. Why? As an all-encompassing construction management software, we understand “having it all”. From gorgeous choreographed water shows at the famous fountains, to luxury suites, to relaxing pools, and endless casino games, the hotel truly is the Las Vegas hotspot.

The Sights

I’m a lover of the arts and nature, so when I learned about the fabulous Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, I was in awe. The Gardens span a 14,000 square foot area, and the displays change depending on the season or an upcoming holiday. For example, during the time that we will be in Vegas for IBS this year it will be time to celebrate Lunar New Year, and the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens has already been designed for the occasion. It is hard to put into words the sheer size and beauty of this display, so you’ll just have to check it out for yourself.

The Bellagio also houses the beautiful Fountains of Bellagio, which are a classic tourist-stop in Las Vegas. You can grab a seat around the fountain, relax, and watch the “most ambitious, complex water feature ever conceived”, for free! These fountains are choreographed water shows that line-up perfectly with the variety of background music. For extra convenience, the fountains are located in the heart of Las Vegas, so you may even stumble across them without intending to. You can view the fountain show from the hotel side, the side with the strip, and from a number of restaurants that surround the fountains.

Kick Back & Relax

Is all of this Garden and Fountain talk making you hungry? Well thankfully, after you make those stops, you have countless award-winning restaurants within The Bellagio to choose from no matter what your eating budget is! Among these restaurants lies the Bellagio Patisserie– a wonderful, reasonably priced bakery that houses the World’s tallest chocolate fountain. Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory comes to life with this 27-foot tall, continuously flowing chocolate fountain. The fountain circulates a remarkable two tons of white, medium, and dark chocolate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Then, you may want to pack your swimsuit and reserve a spot at the stunning Bellagio pool area whether you’re staying there or not. Afraid of if the weather will be warm enough late February? Don’t be– The Bellagio has heated as well as non-heated pools. Reserve a Cabana or a Daybed ahead of time to ensure a comfortable, relaxing spot.

Of course the Casino is a hotspot with endless poker tables, slot machines, and table games. While you’re busy getting into the typical Vegas lifestyle, you can enjoy the gorgeous architecture in the Bellagio’s Casino. Or, you can spend a relaxing afternoon in the Bellagio’s classy, critically acclaimed Spa and Salon.

Fun fact about the Bellagio: several blockbuster films have been filmed and set in Las Vegas, and Oceans 11 particularly was filmed in four different spots at the Bellagio specifically. One famous scene from the film in particular was filmed in front of the Bellagio fountains, depicting the main characters in the film sitting around and enjoying the show. If your movie taste leans more towards comedy, you may be familiar with The Hangover, which also takes place in Las Vegas. Check out this blog post by Corey Levitan that highlights every spot in Vegas that the crew visited.

UDA Technologies in the Wild Wild West

If you’ve been one of our clients for a while, you may be familiar with our product ConstructionSuite– our desktop construction software program that is in its sunset stage. Well, in case you are near the Bellagio during your time in Vegas, it would be hard to miss Aria– a beautiful classy hotel located right around the corner, also owned by the MGM Grand. While the Bellagio is very classic, Aria is equally beautiful, but modernized.

Why do we mention ConstructionSuite? That’s because ConstructionSuite was the software used by the developers of Aria! If you ever want cold-hard proof of what our powerful software has empowered users to create, your evidence is right there on the strip. Of course the designers and contractors are who made that building possible, but not without the cutting-edge tools that our company has beautifully designed from the ground-up.

We hope that you’re getting as excited about IBS 2024 as we are! We somehow are having trouble finding a time to come together to have meetings about the event, even though almost all of our conversations around the office revolve around it. Tune in next week to our 2 Week Countdown to IBS for an exhilarating story from last year in Vegas, and a few things to put in place to set yourself up for success!
